I touched on the Acerbis hand guards in a previous post while swapping from the factory 7/8″ handlebars to the 1-1/8″ “fat” bars on the Yamaha TW200.
I add the ACERBIS Rally Pro Handguards (with Acerbis X-Strong Handguard Mount Kit) to my Yamaha TW200 when I added the 1-1/8th bars. Make sure you get the mounting kit or you will be scratching your head on how to mount the handguards to the handlebars. If you are running the stock handlebars or aftermarket 7/8″ bars, you might want to try the ACERBIS Rally Handguards as they offer a simpler design and mounting process.
I’ve used the “RALLY PRO” version of handguard from Acerbis on all my dual-sport bikes with the exception of using the ACERBIS Rally (Non-Pro) Handguards on one other dualsport, because that is what came on it.

It’s actually “ah-chair-bees,” so there you have it! With the Pro Taper Contour handlebars, I can add the Acerbis Rally Pro Handguards!
Rally Pro Spoilers
With the Acerbis Rally Pro Handguards, you can add on a little extra protection with the Acerbis Rally Pro Spoilers. Mounting them is calling for screws (not supplied) and initally I was going to mount them with pop-rivits, but I went with zip ties. My thought was that if I wanted to easily take them off, just “snip – snip” and they are off. But since I have put them on, they have never came off!
