July 30th of 2017 is when I purchased my 2016 TW200. That was just a few days after my buddy Jason of Pedals Bike Shop in Riverside, purchased his. A few days later our buddy Ricky found his TW200, as well as Eric and his wife, found theirs. My Land Cruiser buddy Alex pick one up too, and we had just met Nick of TillDeathDualUsSport. Even my cousin Chuck picked one up! Yes, we all purchased them used, but all in all, we counted 13+ TW200’s that had been purchased within a 6-month window and we were all connected.
December 3rd of 2017 we had our first group ride and that sparked the idea that we should form a little club. When I got back home from our group ride, it was time to pen a logo!
So I started sketching, and I think the above sketch happened when Jason and I were having a meal after our ride.
I get a rough sketch of the bike and start working type fonts.
I use a font that I draw over for the “TW200” and I add another hand-drawn font for the “tdub club”. From my original sketch, I knew I wanted to add some “speed blocks” so I start working that in.
The good ol’ orange type book from my college days with a multitude of fonts to choose from. But even so… I’ve chosen to draw my own.
The Final Design
The first thing we made was patches! And not just any patch, it’s non-embroidered patch with hook-and-loop backing. The only issue is that it does not hold the detail of the drawing, but serves it’s purpose well out in the elements while on your backpack. So we made sticker sheets as well because it holds the detail!!! Who doesn’t like stickers?! Available right here in our shop: https://www.tdubclub.com/shop/
